We hope you’ll enjoy our new blog icon… the Daystar tree. Why a tree? Well, there’s actually a good story behind that.
During the process of re-designing our site, we often talked about our progress to clients, partners, and friends. One piece of feedback we heard constantly was…. “But what about the tree?!?!” You see, the previous Daystar home page featured a lovely little tree that changed every season … budding in the spring, flourishing green in the summer, vivid harvest hues in the fall, and bare in the winter. The tree changed automatically on the first day of a new season; and we always got a few messages when it happened. Still, we didn’t think much of it … we had come to take the tree for granted!
We were honestly surprised to hear how fond our visitors had become of the tree and began to empathize with their anxiety over losing it. We’re not sure if they rely on Daystar for their seasonal cues, but one thing was certain – we needed to keep that tree!
Hence, it became the blog mascot as a shout out to our online fans and friends who use the tree to know whether it’s time to pack an umbrella, check out the seacoast beach report, go leaf-peeping, or break out the shovels! Long live the Daystar tree!
